Website maintenance and hosting

A website isn’t finished the day it goes live. Website maintenance means someone looks after it, and it doesn’t have to be you.

You shouldn’t have to become a website expert. Security, updates, new requirements and other technical matters still need attention after your website goes live.

You have a business to take care of. We build, maintain and look after your website so you don’t have to think about it. We still look after the LAFI website, for example.

Daily website backups

If something breaks, we bring back yesterday’s copy

Every night we save a full copy of your files and database off-site and keep the last 30. If something goes wrong, we bring back a day when everything worked.

Safe WordPress updates

We test every update on a copy of your site first

WordPress and plugin updates go to a private test copy of your site first and get checked. Only then do they reach your live website.

Questions we hear

Can you take over a website someone else built?

Yes. We start with a health check of the hosting, plugins, backups and security, and you get a plain list of what needs fixing first and why. Once that’s in order, your site moves into the same maintenance routine as the websites we built ourselves. If the check shows it’s time for a new site, we can help with the website development and web design too.

Who do we contact if we need something changed or fixed?

You have one person to contact: Toms. Questions, changes and anything urgent go to him. He already knows your website and brings in the right person from our team when needed, so you don’t have to explain it from the start every time.

Are small changes included?

Yes. Quick fixes, such as small text and image changes, are part of looking after your site. What counts as small is agreed when your maintenance starts, and bigger work, such as a new section, a layout change or a feature, is quoted separately, so you know the price before it starts.

What happens if our website is hacked or goes down?

We find the cause, fix it and restore a clean backup where needed, and afterwards you get a plain report: what happened, what we did and what we changed to make a repeat less likely. Day to day, we look after your website’s security to reduce the risk of hacking and data leaks, but no website is ever completely safe, so it pays to have a plan for a bad day.

How much does website maintenance cost?

It depends on how many moving parts your site has. A company website with a few plugins needs less looking after than an online store with payments and integrations, because every part has to be updated, tested and watched. You know the scope and price before anything starts, and our article on website maintenance cost shows what that money pays for.
