Web design

If visitors get lost on your website or can’t find what they came for, the problem is rarely the colours. Web design starts with a clear structure and what your customers are looking for.

Your website has grown page by page, and visitors no longer know where to look. Your brand has changed, but the website still looks the way it used to. Or design and development were done by different people, and you ended up explaining one side to the other.

So we start with a conversation and with how people already use your website. You see every step, and nothing is built until you’ve approved the structure.

Wireframes and UI design

We plan the layout, then add your brand

We agree on what goes where in quiet grey wireframes, then paint it in your brand’s colours and type in Figma.

Colour, type and imagery on the same bones.

Web design that starts with content

Choosing a website partner is a decision someone at your company will have to stand behind. So before deciding how anything should look, we work out what your visitors need to find and what you need them to do, on a phone as much as on a big screen.

A design project covers research into your analytics and the sites your customers compare you with, the structure, wireframes, a clickable prototype and the final design in Figma. Once the design is approved, we handle the website development too, so nothing gets lost between design and code.

From wireframes to a design system

Every screen is part of one component library, ready for development in every state and at every screen size. As your website grows, new pages are built from the same parts, so it stays consistent and easy to use. After launch, we can look after it for you with website maintenance and hosting.

User journey mapping

We find where visitors get stuck and fix those moments

We walk your visitor’s path from first search to booked call, mark where they get stuck and design those moments away, so more visits become enquiries.

  1. Finds you
  2. ComparesBefore: Prices hidden. After: Prices up front.
  3. Reads a case
  4. Gets in touchBefore: 12-field form. After: 3 fields, done.
  5. Books a call

After the redesign: no dead ends, all the way to the call.

Clickable prototypes

Try your website before we build it

Real people tap through an interactive prototype of your site, so we fix the confusing bits before a line of code is written.

Tap the marked spot to try it yourself.

Usability testing

We test with real users instead of guessing

We put the design in front of real users on phones and desktops, watch where they click and fix what trips them up before launch.

In the first test 3 of 8 people found the booking button. After the fix, 8 of 8 did.

Responsive web design

One website that fits every screen

The same blocks rearrange themselves for desktop, tablet and mobile, tested on real devices. Nothing is hidden, nothing is squeezed.

How we work

  1. Conversation

A free first conversation, then a look at your analytics and the sites your customers compare you with.

  2. Plan and structure

Scope, timeline and price agreed. Then the sitemap and wireframes, before any colour or type.

  3. Design

Key pages and a component library in your brand, reviewed on real devices.

  4. Hand over

Specs, assets and a walkthrough, so development builds exactly what you approved.

Information architecture

Your customers decide where things go.

A website is for your customers, so it should work the way they look for things. In a card sorting test, real people group your pages, and we turn that into your sitemap and navigation.

Design systems

One design system behind every page

Colours, type and UI components live in one design system and component library, so every new page is assembled, not reinvented.

Questions we hear

Can you work with our existing brand?

Yes. We design within your brand guidelines, using your logo, colours and fonts. Guidelines made for print often don’t cover how buttons, forms or menus should look on a screen, so where yours stop, we suggest web rules that fit your brand and agree them with you before they go into the design.

Do we get the design files?

Yes. You get the Figma file with the designed pages at each screen size, the component library behind it and the exported assets, so your own team or another developer can work from them later. If we build the site too, the same components become the blocks in your CMS, so the design and the live site stay in step.

Can you design a website without building it?

Yes. We can hand the approved design to your own developers or another agency, with specs, assets and a walkthrough, so they can build it as designed. If you’d rather have one team from the first sketch to launch, we can build it too.

What do you need from us to get started?

Mostly time from the right people: a first conversation about your goals and customers, access to your website analytics if you have them, your brand guidelines, and one person who can approve the structure and the design. Existing texts and photos help too. We design around real content rather than placeholder text, so nothing has to be squeezed in later.

How much does web design cost?

The price depends mainly on how many page types need designing and how much research and testing the project needs, from a look at your analytics to a clickable prototype tested with real users. After a free first conversation, we agree the scope, timeline and price with you before any work starts, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
