LAFI: a website for a building engineering group
LAFI is a group of companies that has installed and serviced heating, ventilation and other technical systems in Latvian buildings since 1996. We developed lafi.lv on WordPress: a custom theme in which every page is put together in Gutenberg, the WordPress block editor, from 36 blocks of our own, with the group's object catalogue, news and vacancies kept as their own content. Headings, logos, buttons, colours, images and spacing are all fields the team edits, in Latvian and English.

From the Gutenberg editor to the live page
lafi.lv is built in Gutenberg, the WordPress block editor. Every page is a stack of blocks picked from the 36 we made for LAFI, and the team adds, moves and fills them in on its own. Each block opens in a window of fields, here the LAFI Serviss logos, the button and its link and the yellow of the band, and the live page shows what was set. A new page in Latvian or English is a few blocks put in order, with no developer needed.

Key facts
- Custom WordPress theme built with Vite and Tailwind CSS, with 36 custom Gutenberg blocks on ACF Pro, the only blocks the editor offers
- Block settings for heading level, spacing, alignment, image width and call-to-action colour, so the team lays out pages without code
- Object catalogue, news and vacancies as their own content; the catalogue and news filter by category without a page reload, and the choice stays in the link
- Latvian and English with Polylang Pro: translated addresses, menus and site settings for each language
- A home-page intro for campaigns such as the 30th anniversary, switched on and edited in the site settings
- SEO with Yoast, plus contact-page schema with the service, support and 24/7 emergency lines; images resized on demand and served as WebP
